    b. Word Power Made Easy by NORMAN LEWIS
    c. VERBAL ABILITY BY ARUN SHARMA
    d. English Proficiency IMS India

    You should start with self preparation and stick to it for a year. Join for Mock CATs after a 10-12 months from now. After a year of self preparation, if you feel you are not comfortable in any of the particular areas then think of joining for classroom coachings.


    Improve your Verbal Communication as well for CAT
    Would recommend you to focus on spoken english as well, please form a group within your friend circle and have mock Extempore/ GDs/ Interviews/ Debates. This will not only help you in your MBA preparation(clearing GD/PI) but also for job interviews & will surely help in your overall personality/career development.
    I hope you should be able to organise such a session for half an hour everyday within your college campus or hostel.

      Good to know that you are looking forward to your career and planning it ahead of time. I would like to advise few things related with your preparation:
      - Before starting with planning or preparation you should analyze your self.
      - Identify strengths & areas of improvements
      - Know all about CAT such as pattern, type of questions, books to refer, kind of skills required.
      - Selection criteria to get through colleges.
      - After analysis its recommended to set your goals: what colleges are you going to target and identify what efforts will it take for you to achieve your goals.

    Thanks for providing so much information and materials at one place.. I am a BSc third year student..
    Is it better to complete my masters and then join a B school or should I try to join one after my graduation?

    I have some scholarships for the activities in science.
    Will it be taken on a positive note for the admission or should I just "forget" mentioning those.
    I am basically interested in joining pharma companies and then try entrepreneurship ..

    1. Dear Anonymous,

      This would depend on level of toughness of particular paper. For instance, CAT exam for a particular year may be tougher and people with low scores & good accuracy could easily manage to get good percentile. At the same time when questions asked are simpler, low scores and high accuracy would not fetch high percentile.
      The unique thing about exams like CAT is its unpredictability. One needs to make decision on fly during exam and is expected to be prepared for unexpected.
      In short you should try to answer as many questions as possible with high accuracy. This would require lot of practice, would advise you to keep yourself focused and motivated. I would recommend you to go through below useful posts as well:
